Christmas Holidays!!!!!!!

WOOHOO!!! this year is coming to an end.

Hey guys,
this year has really been a great year for me hanging out with my friends and talking to new people this year has really been a blast. where am i going in the holidays? I'm going to Auckland for quite a while, but before we go to Auckland we're going on camp! What are we doing? well i'm not really sure maybe play games and chillax i don't know.Some fun family traditions we celebrate is ... umm well we don't really have anything special, just what people normally celebrate like new years. highlights of term 4

Hey guys,

For this term my highlights would be.

• Japanese because it was fun making up conversations and looking back at words.
• speeches was fun because of how we had to get up in front of the class and making the speech up.
• research projects because we got to pick anything we liked related to the topic and you can present it in different ways.
• passion project also cause of the topic we could freely choose and research about.
• tech was awesome cause of the pillows we made... well our group made.
• p.e was pretty cool
• and lastly the year 7 retreat.

yup that's all ... I'm pretty sure, hehe bye guys! ;D

2015

Wow, this year has gone by pretty fast don't you think? well i think it has. For next year i'm really excited to be a year 8, we get to go to camp and sit on chairs for assembly instead of sitting on the floor. For camp i'm really excited for high ropes i don't know why but it looks really fun, i might go for house captain next year but its a MAYBE though. Somethings i am looking forward to next year is obviously camp and seeing my friends again YAY!  some things that could be challenging next year for me is probably some things in camp.  to be honest i don't want to become a year 8 because being a year 7 was fun and the year 8's have to leave, thats sad but good luck to the year 8's for college next year :D

Speeches

                                                                    Hey readers,

My speech topic was about bullying, and why people shouldn't bully. How i felt when i was actually saying my speech in front of the class was ... would say confident, not that nervous and maybe just a tad bit scared, but afterwards i felt more confident with myself after 1 minute through my speech, so i gained confidence along the way basically i guess. I think my speech went well maybe just like i hoped but not exactly. The other speeches i enjoyed listening to was probably all my friends and my classmates, so basically i guess i enjoyed listening to everyones speeches. 

Maximum Ride: Nevermore

As you can probably tell from the title I'm doing Maximum Ride Nevermore. This is one of my favourite books in the series, it is also the last book in the series, a brief explanation about the plot is that this book is basically set in the future and Maximum aka. Max needs to save the world and people say she's the new generation because they have powers and wings.Along the way there are people tracking them down and scientists wanting to experiment  on them. What i like about the book is that it was really detailed and well written, also... well basically i loved everything about the book. My favourite was Angel probably because she could read minds and get into peoples brains, she was a awesome character that was only seven years old. 

My Speech

SPEECHES!!! yup speeches. Are you guys excited because I'm surely not, I am so nervous it's hard for me too get up in front of the class and speak because everybody's focusing on you. Am I prepared? I hope I'm prepared and I'm sort of confident not that confident though. One aspect of the presentation i need to focus on when i'm giving my speech is probably speaking slowly and clearly and using some hand gestures, stand in a confident way and make eye contact.

Just Space

Yup, I'm pretty sure form the title that you know I'm going to write about what i have learnt from the topic we have just been learning...space. What i have found interesting during our work in space is probably the galaxies, they look really awesome and bright and even their names sounds cool. The galaxies interested me because their so big and eye catching and there are quite a lot of galaxies you can look at, and so for the *choose a thing in space project* i did a galaxy, the Whirlpool galaxy.

Something I did in the Holidays

Hey guys,

so as you all know it was the holidays a while ago yay! but now it's back to school. Anyway something I did in the holidays were hanging out with my friends and just chilling at home, but the fun thing I did was going to a friends house and swimming in the pool, after that we watched some youtube videos on their massive t.v and it was a blast. 

School Production has come to an end

The school production is finally over i had heaps of fun doing the costumes,makeup, dance, acting, being in the dressing room it was so much fun! My highlights were practicing the dance with everyone, speaking in front of the audience and having fun with my friends. What i think should be done differently next time is the script no offence but this year was sort of the same because they go around planets looking for something like the other school production but is is better because there isn't like a 5 minute wait like last time. The scenes i enjoyed the most is probably the Chair dance, Cantina and room 6's one. How i thought about my own performance was that i think i did pretty well better than last year that is.

Production

Yay! the production is here,are you guys excited for the production? I am. The most exciting thing that i'm looking forward to the production is all the dances and my speaking part. The person coming to watch is my mum, and I have organised to arrive at 6 on both nights.

Elections

Yay the elections are here... but the problem is that we can't vote, oh well we can vote when we're 18 or older right?

What i learned this week about the elections is that:

• Every three years New Zealand holds the elections and 18 years or over get to vote.
• There are heaps of parties.
• We choose a small number of people to represent our views in the parliament. 
• Most candidates belong to a political party.
• New Zealand is divided into 70 geographical areas called electorates/ seats.
• They include seven Maori electorates.
• We live in democracy country.
• Democracy is a word from the Greek language.

And I've learnt a lot more about the elections and parliament, it's very interesting knowing all of this I hope we learn more.

Reading Challenges

Hey readers,

The reading challenges I have done so far is the random challenge in the random challenge I picked out from the shelf The tomorrow code, series challenge I picked dork diaries and family challenge I read city of fallen angels. What challenges I will aim for to do in the rest of the term is space challenge, 10 book challenge and maybe the others. I have also read some other books that have nothing to do with the challenges like Warriors fire and ice, it was a good book... yup.
 

Volleyball

Volleyball! Yup I think volleyball is the best sport in the world... actually I know it's the best sport in the word. The benifit of this sport is that you can get better ar recieving, hitting, and blocking. The skills that you learn are jumping, spikking and blocking. What makes this fun is that it feels really good when you spike the ball with your hands it goes BAM! and you'll see a pathway opening for you, through the blockers and it feels like your FLYING!

Production!!!

For me the Production is going good, the dance I've been learning the Cantina dance is actually going great for me. I've been memorizing my lines and learnt them off by heart now cause there only 2 lines. I also have been doing some of the props like cutting the egg cartons so tiring and it also broke my scissors... lol. The costume... well my costume is finished and ready to try on, and how i can get myself and others more prepared is by listening to the teacher and telling people to be quiet or help them with their production things.

My Song

A song that is meaningful to me is hmmmm that me think... i think it would probably be Problem... yup. Anyway this song is written by... Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea . This song is about is about how someone has one less problem without someone and lifting the weight off their shoulders and that you should be wiser about your decision. And that your head is in the cloud because you daydream to much and you realize that you have one less problem without them...i don't know, why i like it is because it's catchy and i like the rapping in it and it was awesome when Ariana Grande went really high pitched never knew she could sing that high... yeah.

My Artwork

This is a portrait of Ra the sun god from Ancient Egypt. What I used to make this was paint, dye, A3 piece of paper and a picture of Ra. What I liked about this is how it looks and its colours.

Egypt

what are some things i learnt about Egypt is more about the afterlife and how Anubis holds the scales to weighing peoples hearts. i also learnt about the pharaohs and how Cleopatra killed herself with a poisonous snake,  and about the weapons they used, and i learnt more about mummification. The activities that i learned the most from would be the pharaohs. The activities that i enjoyed the most would be the afterlife, mummies and Pharaohs.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics!... yup hehe. Anyway every Thursday we've been going to Nairnville and yes as you can obviously see we have been doing gymnastics. I'm not the best at gymnastics i actually suck i'm not really a person that does the splits or cartwheels easily, but i have been improving. The sessions went on fine, we normally start with a warm up game like ship to shore, then we do our stretches get into 3 teams then move to our activities. my favourite bit was when we got to do the dive roles it was awesome for me, and i say i actually improved quite a bit on gymnastics like doing a back role.

The Thing I Learnt

The thing i learned this week is that Egyptians wanted to be mummified if they could afford it back in Ancient Egypt. I might remember this, might not so maybe. The thing that helps me to remember is a good days rest.

Book Groups

The group i was in for book groups is Running out of time by Margaret Haddix. The thing that well in our group was asking good questions and taking turns to answer them. The things that didn't go so well was deciding what chapter we were going to read up to. What i think that i gained from the experience was taking turns to answer and that everyone has to contribute so they can unlock crackers so nobody lets the people down in their group.

Cat in the Hat by Dr Seuss

When I was little I loved to read Cat In the Hat by Dr Seuss.

The plot in the book is about this boy and girl and they are stuck at home while their mother is out and they couldn't go outside to play because it was raining. Then the Cat in the Hat came in and started causing trouble with thing 1 and thing 2, and then the fish saw their mum walking back so they captured thing 1 and thing 2 and told the Cat to get out so he did. Then they looked at the house at it was a complete mess. Then the Cat came back with this machine that cleans and tidied their house.

Holiday

I went to Masterton with my family and friends. we got to see the light house and seals. one seal nearly chased us because we went to close to his territory . after that we had dinner at a restaurant, but we couldn't finish it all so we had to have a takeaway.the scenery was amazing because you could see the sea go bam! and splash! it was awesome...yup.

Mission Fair

The mission fair was a blast. The stall i did was called La casa De Marshmallow, we did face paint, food e.g sherbet with lollies, jelly and fudge, bracelets, hair spray and lucky dip. I did it with Mercedes, Sienna, Sharon, Millie, Caitlin, Kelsey, Grace and Abby. It was a huge success. What i would do differently for next years mission fair is that maybe i could change what i normally do for the mission fair like maybe i could do a game and they win prizes. yeah something along those lines.

Home Time

What i enjoy doing at home is probably drawing . What i like about drawing is that you can have lots of ideas going through your mind and you can draw the first thing that comes to your mind.

I draw quite often and it takes quite a while to perfect it. :D

Now my turn to question you:
 How do you feel when you get a chocolate bar from someone you don't really know... e.g a stranger?

Statistics

 I have improved on statistics a lot but i'm still not the best.

The areas of statistics i have improved in was refreshing my mind on mean, range, mode and median. I have also improved on angles and learning how to do a histograms again.

What i need to work on is probably angles, i mean i get it but i think i still need to work on it a little more, and to draw a perfect circle with the compass.

It helped me by making me draw my circles a little bit better, doing the angles properly and learning the new graphs that we could use.

EOTC Week Reflection

What i found the most challenging on EOTC week was probably Kayaking. Because for me when we had to go around the lake and follow our instructor, was pretty hard because i bumped into Caitlin and Grace a few times and got stuck on the sides because the water wasn't deep enough.

What i found easy was when did sailing, yep sailing because we just had to listen to Jim the sailing instructor to know what to do. Then we had to line up shortest to tallest and get the clothes and life jacket that we need, and when we're on the boat and not steering you can just enjoy the view.

My proudest moment on EOTC week was when i was the visual person in Capital E. yes, i control what you see on sunshine Sundays it was really fun especially when i froze the people on the screen and saw what they looked like with Caitlin, Sarah and Sylvia.

On EOTC week my favourite moment was when we came back from Mt Kau Kau. So we had three decisions one finish your art, two play dodge ball and three the paper, scissors rock game, and mostly everybody chose dodge ball. But the teacher said that if you want to stay back and do art you can, Sylvia, Olivia, Jessica, Caitlin, Millie, Sharon and I stayed back and did art. It doesn't sound interesting, but trust me it was really interesting.

Yes it was what i expected it was a fun week and i did new things that i haven't done before, like sailing, kayaking and  on T.V. I had a spectacular week with my friends, classmates and teacher.

Swimming

The swimming group I'm in is water safety. the skills I have been working on these past few weeks are floating, swimming without goggles and survivor breaststroke. Yes I do think I'm improving. What I can do to get the most out of my lesson is do the best I can and listen to the teacher. 

EOTC Week

I am really excited for EOTC week. I am looking forward to On T.V. I'm quite worried about sailing because I don't really like the sea, and yes I do have all the gear I need. I hope all the year 7's are going to have lots of fun on week 6!

 My favourite food is chocolate and curry , I play basketball and i love to draw and read.My Favourite colours are electric blue and blood red. My favourite books are the mortal instruments. I have four fish, and my favourite animal is a duck.
