Over the past few days we have been learning about Anzac day, World War 1 and Gallipoli. What i have learned about World War 1 was that it started on July 1914 and lasted till November 1918, our enemies was the Germans and the Turkish. We were on Britians side and fought along with them.
What i learnt about Gallipoli was that many poeple lost thier lives their and also you earn medals and if they are yours you place them close to your heart, and if they aren't yours and they were passed down from someone in your family they have to be on the left side where it is not close to your chest and you are only allowed to wear it if it a special occasion.
No i didn't attend any any ANZAC Day events but i did see poppies placed around some places and a big group of people celebrating ANZAC Day with soldiers there.
I think it is a good idea to commemorate these types of events because we need to show our respect to the soldiers who gave up their lives in the war.
