Nairnville

This term we have been going to Nairnville. I have been finding the sessions at Nairnville fun and helpful. The things that I enjoyed the most at Nairnville was the warm up games and soccer. Some new skills that I have learned in Nairnville are ways to pass the ball in rippa rugby and that we are suppose to spread out and find space so we're not all crowded in one place. I feel that I have improved and have been involved in all of the activities. What I could do more to get out of the session is to be quiet and quick so that we have more time to play games. A suggestion that I have is that we should play badminton more often.

German

In Room 11 we have been learning German. The lessons have been going okay, except for when we have to the pronounce the words in  German. Some things I have learnt in German is how to say hello. You can say hello in German in many ways like Guten Tag, Tag, Hallo and a lot more. I have also learnt the days of the week and the numbers. When I'm in college I don't think I will continue German, instead I will probably learn Japanese or Chinese. Knowing a bit of German could help me when I go to Germany or if I meet someone who speaks German because then I could communicate with them.

EPIC Values

So as most of you people know EPIC stands for Empathy, Perseverance, Integrity and Creativity. This week I showed Creativity by having a great idea for my creative writing, I didn't use one of the ideas on the task sheet, I thought of one myself.  The value I think is the easiest for me to show usually is Creativity because I can show this by thinking creatively. The most challenging value for me to usually show would be Empathy because its pretty hard for me to feel what other people are feeling like when someone looks sad and I ask what's wrong they sometimes say nothing and walk away. Or if someone trips over I normally just look at them and walk away.

Tanith Low in the Maleficent Seven

The book I have recently read was Tanith Low in the maleficent seven (From the world of Skulduggery Pleasant) by Derek Landy. It was published on the 28 March 2013.  The main characters in this book are Tanith Low and Billy-Ray Sanguine. The supporting characters are Aurora, Gracious O’Callahan, Dexter Vex, Frightening Jones, Wilhelm Scream, Ghastly Bespoke, Sabine, Dusk, Jackie Earl, Spingheeled Jack, Johann Starke, Black Annis and Avaunt. This books plot is about Tanith going on an illegal mission to find and get rid of the God-Killer weapons, which are some of the most dangerous objects on the planet  with her so called “team” so there is nothing for the mortals to use to stop Darquesse from ending the world.

Quote
“Sabine shifted in her seat. ‘Who’s your friend?’
‘I’m glad you asked me that,’ said Tanith. ‘Her name’s Darquesse and she’s lovely. You’ll love her, you really will. She’s so funny and nice and she’s great to hang out with.’
Sabine frowned. ‘Isn’t she the one they’re saying will destroy the world?’
‘OK, Sabine, for a start, I don’t know why you’re being so negative about this. How about waiting until you’ve met her before you start judging her?’”

- Derek Landy, Skulduggery Pleasant: The Maleficent Seven

What I liked about the book was that it was very interesting and funny. The author put in good describing words and the whole book just grabbed my attention. I would recommend this book to ages 12 or above or people who like humour, violence, magic, adventure and mystery.
