camp

I guess i could say camp was what i expected because i had a sister who also went on year 8 camp and talked to me about it so i was pretty prepared. My proudest moment would be going on the high ropes and doing it (Gave myself a pat on the back) and bush walking because fighting all those prickle bushes was pretty tough. My favourite moment was when i was on the flying fox, i actually felt like i was flying and i loved looking at the scenery at the bottom. i felt refreshed and hyped up.

So as you all know last week the year 8's went on camp! What i found the most challenging on camp was the high ropes, bush walk and overnight expedition. Why did i find these challenging well, the things i went on for high ropes were all moving and i'm already scared of heights. But it was also MOVING, like come on *sigh* hardest moment of my life.

The bush walk, ok you might be like "What the heck Katherine, it's a bush walk what could go wrong." Oh everything went wrong. walking for about an hour and a half, slipping, tripping, getting scratched and what's worse, getting caught by blackberry bushes OW!

Overnight expedition, what i didn't like about it was sleeping on a slope and when you wanted to go to the bathroom there's only a long drop.

What i found easy was the flying fox, that was a piece of cake why you ask, it would be because you didn't really have to do much just sit on and and WHOOSH! The other one would probably be caving because we got to walk with head torches in the dark and i felt like a spy... (Don't judge me) and we got to see glow worms up close.

group work skills

For the Cricket project and the Art project we had to work in groups. I was paired with Avania in the Cricket world cup project and for the Art project i am with Sharon, Caitlin and Calvin.

What went well for the group cricket project we had good communication skills and we took turns in researching and working on our power point and poster.

What didn't go so well for the art goup project was that things didn't go as smoothly as the cricket project. The drawing wasn't going to well because we all had different oppinions about how it should look, someone wanted it to be absolutley perfect while the otheres thought of doing it there own way.

What didn't go well for the cricket project was that we couldn't decide on stuff, like what we should do fior the poster because both of us said "I don't know, You can choose because i don't really mind."

What went well for the art project is that we decided on things quickly like what myth we're doing and the colours.

How was the quality of your work affected by your group work skills? working in a group can be helpful like when your stuck on something you could always ask someone in the group. You could also finish your work faster.

What we can do to help the next group assignment go well is to contribute to the project. Have everyone do an equal amount of work and help each other out and be supportive.

something i've learned

the country I have been studying about these past few weeks is England. what I've learnt about England is that England is often mistaken for the entire United Kingdom or Great Britain, and is often offends people in different countries like Wales and Scotland.

Something I've learned about someone in the class is that Claire has lots of best friends back in China who are all boys and this one guy called *MATT* who wants to kill Claire's best friends in Wellington. interesting right?

the other thing I've learnt is that Katherine R is tempted to say "My little pony"
