What i learned this week about the elections is that:
- Every three years New Zealand holds the elections and 18 years or over get to vote.
- There are heaps of parties.
- We choose a small number of people to represent our views in the parliament.
- Most candidates belong to a political party.
- New Zealand is divided into 70 geographical areas called electorates/ seats.
- They include seven Maori electorates.
- We live in democracy country.
- Democracy is a word from the Greek language.
